YESHI 2: A Taste of Taiwan’s Night Market in the Heart of Saigon

Inspired by the iconic gateways of Taiwan’s bustling night markets, Yeshi 2.0 features a striking red canopy that unifies two separate storefronts into one cohesive facade. This bold architectural gesture is paired with thoughtfully arranged neon signage, visually dynamic yet orderly, to create an eye-catching, easily recognizable presence on the street. The contemporary Taiwanese restaurant design also complements the surrounding neighborhood, crafting a friendly and inviting atmosphere.

The ground floor’s glass windows and an open second floor provide passersby with a glimpse into the vibrant energy inside, where space, light, and people come together to embody the lively spirit of Taiwan’s famous night markets.

Materiality & Colors: A balance between tradition and modernity

Blending traditional Taiwanese materials like white kitchen tiles and slim red bricks with modern elements such as epoxy flooring and plywood finishes, Yeshi 2 strikes a balance between nostalgic charm and contemporary aesthetics. Acoustic ceiling panels regulate the ambiance of lively canteens to enhance comfort for every guest.

The familiar furniture of folding tables and stainless-steel chairs in local eateries is redesigned at Yeshi in a more striking way. The chairs, with their backrests and legs inspired by chopsticks, give a unique touch to the restaurant.

Yeshi 2 is a restaurant, yes, but it’s also another entry in a new wave of Taiwanese cuisine in Vietnam. A contemporary, creative space rooted in nostalgia.Surrounded by neon signage and glowing neon light fixtures, diners are transported straight to the heart of Taiwan’s night market culture.atmosphere.

Building on the flexible brand toolkit from the original Yeshi, but with a more layered and expressive approach. Hand-drawn illustrations, cheeky, light-hearted, and full of character, playfully weave through menus, packaging, and wall graphics, echoing the everyday humor found in Taiwanese street culture.

Anchored by a vivid red palette and sharp display typography, the brand system expands across both print and digital applications with flexible layouts, bold sticker-like icons, and decorative borders that keep things visually punchy.

The branding moves fluidly into space and aligned with the interior design language.. From glowing neon signage to menus, each touchpoint captures the warmth and excitement of sharing a meal with friends and family. Lightbox menu panels feature typographic treatments inspired by everyday Taiwanese signage, reinterpreted through a clean, structured layout.

Designed to feel spontaneous and social, the visual system extends to wayfinding, drink coasters, and even staff uniforms, turning the restaurant into a full-sensory brand experience. Just like the food, the design is generous, welcoming, and full of flavor.
